About this course
This half day workshop will start at 8:30 and will finish at 13:00
Sterilization technology is one of the most critical operations in the health care sector. This workshop is about Steam Sterilization and in particular Autoclave design and operation. The workshop will challenge you and your organization. It is designed to eliminate any complacency which may exist in your organization and ensure you are operating with the greatest attention to detail.
- Steam sterilization cycles are sometimes not properly designed, equipment is not properly maintained or adequately performance tested, or operators are not aware of the risk factors. This is the Achilles heel of an aseptic operation or any operation seeking to minimize or eliminate microbiological contamination
- Regulatory expectations vary between agencies, with the MHRA putting particular emphasis on steam quality and cycle design
- We often find that companies have inefficient sterilization cycles and there are substantial opportunities for improvement if the right level of understanding is in place. In some cases companies have reduced sterilization cycles from 4.5 hours to 1. 5 hours through efficient cycle design. The savings and capital avoidance for a fully-loaded operation is substantial!
The intended audience of this workshop would be individuals working in the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical and Medical Device sector specifically from Production, Maintenance, Engineering and Quality. We design each workshop to ensure there is a high level of interaction and Q&A. Your course instructors are extremely knowledgeable and have particular insight regarding regulatory expectations.
