A microbiologist by training, Erika obtained her first degree from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth and subsequently obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Pharmaceutical Studies from the University of Brighton. In 2002 she was awarded her MBA from the University of Nottingham.

Erika has 20 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, in increasingly senior roles in both Quality Control and Quality Assurance and has worked with all the major pharmaceutical dosage forms, both sterile and non-sterile and with Medical Devices. In addition she has expertise in the controls in the Cosmetics and Toiletry Industries and is a previous Chair of the CTPA Microbiology sub-committee.

Since joining David Begg Associates in 2002, Erika has specialised in providing auditing, consultancy and training to manufacturers of sterile and non-sterile products, both pharma and biological.

Erika is eligible to act as a QP and assesses for the Institute of Biology as a QP assessor. She is the immediate past chair of the Institute's Panel of QP Assessors.

In her free time, Erika admits to a growing love of watching cricket and rugby and is striving to invent the world's best soup and muffin recipes.
