With a first degree in applied Biology (Microbiology, Pharmacology and Biochemistry), Mike gained a PhD in the Bacteriology of Sterile Products from the University of London, whilst working for Roche Products Ltd.

Mike has extensive, specialist experience in biologicals and biotech manufacture, gained from many years in Quality Assurance, most recently as Head of Quality at Cambridge Antibody Technology.

He has broad experience in the manufacture and control of both terminally sterilised and aseptically prepared sterile pharmaceuticals, including ophthalmic products, lyophilised products, and creams and lotions, as well as most non-sterile dosage forms.

Since becoming a DBA associate, Mike has specialised in providing auditing, consultancy and training to manufacturers of biologicals, biotech products and sterile products.

Mike has a particular expertise in product development and the application of GLP, GMP and GCP to the manufacture and control of Clinical Trial materials.

Mike is eligible to act as a QP and acts for the Institute of Biology as a QP assessor.

When not at work, Mike enjoys gardening, canoeing, late 17th Century history and reading detective novels.
