Ulrich currently works as an independent consultant, and has 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

He was Vice President of Animal Cell Fermentation with Roche in Penzberg. Prior to this he spent 10 years with Boehringer Mannheim, where his final role was Head of Animal Cell Fermentation, R&D.

• Large scale cultivation of microbial and animal cells (GMOs) (up to 50 qbm/10 qbm)
• Production of metabolites and proteins (enzymes, amino acids, therapeutic proteins)
• Production under GMP conditions (qualification and validation of equipment and processes)
• Bioprocess technology (design and engineering of fermentation facilities)
