John has over 30 years experience working with the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. After completing a PhD in organic synthetic chemistry he worked in downstream process development at Beecham Pharmaceuticals then as a Senior Development Chemist at Scottish & Newcastle breweries.
He then worked for Millipore, designing and selling process filtration systems, water systems, small and large scale HPLC systems and microbiological monitoring systems. He was a founding member of Ionpure Technologies Ltd and ultimately became General Manager of USF Ionpure Permutit. He then moved into European product management, managing a technology and marketing group for USF prior to becoming Operations Manager for BioKinetics. He also held the position of Global Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Business Unit Manager for Christ Water Technology.
For the past 7 years he has been an independent consultant specialising in pharmaceutical water systems, validation, technical writing and quality system. He is the author of a number of papers on water purification, has spoken at numerous conferences on water purification and is a Lecturer at Cranfield University, Brighton University, Manchester University, University of Sligo and European College of Validation.
His time is mainly split between training activities, water system troubleshooting and auditing activities. His approach to problems and training is pragmatic, with the focus being to achieve the desired outcome quickly and efficiently.
