Chris is an Industrial Statistician providing consultancy and training in the field of quality improvement.
Designing Quality into Products and Processes for almost 30 years, he has the experience of applying the principles of design for quality into products, and the processes that produce them, in many varied industries, from the pharmaceutical (Sanofi Aventis, Bespak) and chemical industries (Cookson) to confectionery and automotive (Land Rover, Ford). He has designed experiments to discover the factors that make processes and products robust against the influence of ‘noise’ or ‘usage’ variables, eg the process factors to manipulate (oxygen, power) and to what level, to minimise the variability of particle size and shape when the influences (noise) such as humidity and temperature are ever present.
Chris presented a paper about the new standard to the International Conference on Lean Six Sigma in Orlando 2010. Within the UK, he is the Chairman of BSi’s (British Standards) technical committee on SPC and also represents all of their statistical committees within BSi at management level.
Since joining the NSF-DBA team Chris has been involved with both the pharmaceutical and medical device teams offering his expertise in training.
