Richard has a degree in Pharmacy and a diploma in Management Studies, with more than 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. He has worked in the development, manufacturing and packaging of both sterile and non-sterile dosage forms. He has held responsibilities for training (both GMP and quality improvement), line management, quality oversight and quality management and he was responsible for the quality aspects in the construction and qualification of a new sterile manufacturing facility. Richard is eligible to be a QP and has acted in this capacity for both licenced products and bulk IMPs. He has a broad experience of auditing suppliers of ingredients, components and product, and he is also experienced in managing inspections by both regulators and by clients for contract manufacturing.

Before joining the industry, where he has worked for Hoechst Marion Roussel and for Patheon, he was a practicing pharmacist.

Richard has strong interests in both the development of people though training and coaching and in quality improvement.
