A microbiologist with a degree also in Applied Biology and a Masters in Strategic Quality Management, Stewart has over 40 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry encompassing research, validation, logistics/supply chain management, quality control and quality assurance. The last 20 years of Stewart’s career have been spent in Quality Assurance covering medical devices, solid dose, liquid dose, vaccines and biotechnology products, culminating in the role of Director of Quality for Wyeth UK. Stewart has significant hands on experience and expertise in most forms of sterile processing.

Past Chair of Pharmig (Pharmaceutical Microbiology Interest Group) and previous member of the BP Antibiotics Experts Group and the BSI Clean Room standards group. He was also a committee member of the UK’s Pharmaceutical Quality Group for many years.

Stewart has been an active Qualified Person since 1980 and has participated in numerous MHRA/EMEA inspections, both in the UK and the USA, as the named QP. He has also acted as the Quality Expert on the CMC section of more than 50 regulatory submissions.
