Start Your QP Training

The role of Qualified Person is perhaps the most challenging, but definitely the most rewarding, in the pharmaceutical industry. Virtually all the Partners and Consultants at NSF-DBA have acted as a QP at some time - several still do - and we regard it as a high spot of our careers. That is why we provide support to those of you who wish to become QPs.

Am I Eligible To Become a QP?

Not everyone can become a QP. Eligibility, in terms of academic training and industrial experience, is defined in a European directive (2001/82/EC for veterinary products and 2001/83/EC for human products), but different European member states have different national requirements, so it is essential that you check that your education and experience meets the needs of your national regulatory agency. If you work in the United Kingdom, you can check with one of three professional bodies:

  • Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
  • Royal Society of Chemistry
  • Institute of Biology

Alternatively, please feel free to ask us for preliminary advice.

My Education and Experience is Fine - What Next?

If you have the necessary education and experience (or will have by the time you complete your training) and you have the backing of your employer, we will be delighted to enrol you on to our series of training modules designed to provide you with the knowledge you require to become a Qualified Person. Our series of twelve modules are spread over a two year period, but you can join the series whenever you choose and attend as many or as few of the modules as you wish. Should you require it, we will be happy to discuss your background experience and advise you on how many modules to attend.

So What Do I Get For My Money?

In addition to probably the best training currently available, you will receive the following benefits:

  • excellent course notes which will serve as reference materials for years to come
  • a personal tutor who will monitor your progress and assist with any problems you may have *
  • a free revision interview at the end of your training to help you prepare for any formal assessment you may need to sit *
  • the opportunity to network with like-minded people who can help you to gain experience of dosage forms that your company may not manufacture
  • membership of the NSF-DBA QP Alumni Association, which will assist both the networking opportunities and CPD in your future career *
  • the opportunity to enrol with the University of Strathclyde for a Postgraduate diploma or MSc
  • an unparalleled probability of success in achieving your aim of becoming a QP!
